No. McMillian’s uses non-toxic green labeled products that kid and pet friendly. Our products are designed to break down and dissolve during the cleaning process so your carpets are 100% residue free.
What should I do to prepare?
Our technicians want to make your experience with us as easy and stress free as possible. We handle the moving of your furniture and replacing it with protective pads, [not sure?], pre-spotting, and any other prep work. All we suggest is moving the more delicate household items out of the way before we arrive.
Will water ruin my carpet?
Not at all. In fact the hot water/steam extraction is the method of carpet cleaning that most manufacturer’s recommend. Carpet warranties actually require that your carpets be cleaned on a regular basis by a licensed I.I.C.R.C. professional.
Can you remove certain stains?
Yes. In addition to our thorough cleaning process, McMillan’s can remove even the toughest stains left behind by other cleaners. (i.e. pet urine, coffee, colored sports drinks, ink, red wine – just to name a few) No matter what type of stain you may have, we most likely can remove it.
Do you charge by the room or square feet?
We charge by the square foot, not by the room. Even though we move furniture and clean under it there may be areas under furniture that don’t need to be cleaned. This allows us not to overcharge, since we measure the areas that need to be cleaned and not the whole room.
Will my carpets soil quickly after the cleaning is finished?
Unlike dry-cleaning that uses chemicals and low moisture to clean leaving a stiff and only partially clean surface, McMillian’s rinses the carpet thoroughly with 270 degree water temperature and steam. This process completely extracts the entire carpet fiber of dirt and oil based residue. You than have carpets that are drier, cleaner, and healthier.
How long will it take to clean my carpet?
On average, we spend about 45 minutes to an hour per room. There are multiple factors that determine how long a job will take. We want your carpets to look like new when they are finished, so we take the necessary time to achieve the maximum results. Some things that can determine length of time are:
- Furniture to be moved
- How soiled the carpet is
- Spot removal treatments
Can you get pet urine/odor out?
Absolutely, with our advanced stain removal process and odor eliminating treatments we can save even the most severely urine damaged areas. We are proud to be able to eliminate odors rather than covering them up.
How long will my carpets take to dry?
Drying time depends on
- Humidity levels
- Air flow to the rooms being cleaned
- Type of capret
In general, turning on your air conditioning or or fans will help accelerate dry times. Our average dry time is 4 to 6 hours. Mild foot traffic is safe after cleaning, but indoor/outdoor foot traffic needs to be limited to avoid re-soiling. We offer speed drying with commercial blowers at no cost to accelerate drying to 1 to 2 hours.
